I mean, who doesn’t like sinfully sexy demons and sassy succubi, both of them out for blood?? Does it sound like your type? If your answer is yes then you’re in for a real treat if you ever get around reading this book!

This book! I completed it a while ago, but with the funeral and stuff (which will go on till 30th August) I have been busy aplenty. Keeping that aside, this was a beautiful book. At first, it gave me a bit of a Beauty and the Beast sort of vibes? I thought at first it was Kidnappers to Lovers, but then it transformed into sort of Enemies to Lovers, with slow-burn

The story is about Rowan (love the name because of personal biases) a seemingly normal college girl who wants nothing but to study in the City of Thorns - the abode of Demons - in order to find out her mother's murderer. Fortunately, she resembles a very powerful and ancient succubus, exactly. Unfortunately, there's a certain someone who despises her. And Orion, the Lord of Chaos, believes they could be of mutual use to each other. And thus the story begins. The beginning was a bit confusing, although I loved how the world was build up slowly. I liked this concept of demons in paranormal romance. The plot twist at the end was seriously what made the book 5x better!

The male MC, Orion, was the poster morally grey, hot, sexy character! Rowan was a real badass and I loved how she coped and adapted with everything going around! The book gave me MAJOR Beauty and the Beast, A Court of Mist and Fury vibes, and I LOVED it. I am so excited for the second book, literally can't wait!

Thinbookishgirl Rating on City of Thorns: 4.6 out 5!
